Ideas and Information

In this stage of your planning you'll want to learn as much as you can about what's available and what's practical. Take advantage of the wealth of information available and have fun dreaming about the possibilities.

Clipping File
Start a clipping file for your project and use it to hold article clippings, photographs and brochures. Buy or borrow home improvement magazines and decide what kind of styles or what look you like.

Talk to Friends and Neighbors
Talk with friends and family members who have undergone renovation projects. Stop by and have them explain their thought process and view their before and after photographs. Ask for advice or what they would do differently.

Visit the Source
Visit home improvement stores and manufacturer showrooms for information and pricing on bathrooms, kitchens and interior design. Attend a home show sponsored by your local Home Builders Association. See what's new by visiting the manufacturers Web site on the Internet.
